When it comes to taxes, there are different tax brackets that people fall into. The tax bracket that someone falls into is based on their income. The higher someone’s income is, the higher their tax bracket will be. There are seven federal tax brackets for the 2022 tax year. Your bracket depends on your taxable income and filing status. The seven brackets are 10%, 12%, 22%, 24%, 32%, 35% and 37%.

Use the tax rates below to determine which tax bracket your income puts you in. Example, if you're a single filer with a taxable income of $10,000, your federal income tax would be 10% which is $1,000.
